Sundarakandam Chapters 16-20 - A commentary

Chapter 16
Looking at Sita Amma, Aanjaneyar feels about her plight
Aanjaneyar starts thinking aloud “ O, Rama, While searching for Sita Amma, you have helped many people to overcome their enemies and brought bck their happiness, though you were carrying your mental agony. You gave me enough strength to cross the ocean , search all the places in Lanka and finally locate and see Sita Amma . To solve her agony, it is only befitting, you have to turn the world upside down if required, you must do it immediately. Sita is bearing all the problems with one confidence that her husband will come and take her back definitely.”
Aanjaneyar thinking more and more from her angle, and now  is planning about how he has to approach and talk toher, for her to get some comfort and confidence at this moment.
Lesson – 16 :
Aanjaneyar feels so much about the plight of Sita Amma and feels that whatever he underwent in his journey so far is nothing comparedto her sufferings. He becomes more confident about do anything with Rama’s blessings to take to completion of joing Sita Amma with Rama.
Let us gain now confidence that Aanjaneyar is devising ways to solveour problems too.
My view : Maha Periyava once said, Aanjaneyar was hiding himself atop the Simsupa tree since his color of grey, matches with thecolor of the leaves of that tree” We are blessed to hear from Him.
Thus the Sixteenth chapter of Sundarakandam is completed
Jaya Sri Aanjaneya
Chapter  17
Sita Amma guarded by Raakshasees
Sit Amma  looks with  brightness of a full moon but looks like  almost a sinking ship in the ocean, due toheavy  and unbalanced weight. She is unable to bear the heavyweight of sorrow  in that situation. If you are surrounded inside the ocean by sharks and whales of different and fearful  shapes and sizes, same way, she is surrounded by Raakshasees of various physical contours and defects. They  surround her with high decibel shreaks and shoutings bringing a peculiar fearful and deadly atmosphere. Their behavior cloudes even the brightness of Sita Amma. She  looked totally helpless and pulled down spirits. In spite of all these , Her innate divinity and luminence have not jaded even a bit, due to the inner confidence on Rama to save  her from this turmoil.Aanjaneyar did maannaseeka namaskarams to Rama and Lakshmana  for blessing him due to which only he could have the darshan of Sita Amma.

Lesson – 17:  Sita Amma is facing extreme situations  where she bears it without loosing her confidence on Rama,  taking all these happenings as passing situations. Similarly if   and when  we  come across such type of grueling situations, take yourself and your confidence intact  fully realizing that Rama is still nd ever with you to sail through. This is the lesson Aanjaneyar gives us, and let us be blessed ever by him
Chapter 18
Raavanan enters Ashokavanam
Suddenlythere were sounds of Vedic Chanting and auspicious music instruments. Raavanan is giving. He is the son of a great Rishi, he has full knowledge of Vedas, highly radiant and bright person . It was late night and he is adjusting his dress which were half tied and half loose. He is accompanied by a large number of his wives whose clothes and dresses also were half loose and exposing their parts and part of their bodies. Raavanan has been victorious in all the battles against all his enemies. With full passion for Sita Amma, he enters the Ashokavanam. Aanjaneyar could see him through the gap between the leaves in the tree.
Lesson – 18 :
A person cannot be judged by his birth and his clan, his knowledge or learning, or his appearance. If he does not follow the normal good behavior of human being, allhis attributes are like rain the forest, useless for anybody. This is Aanjaneyar teachings to us today through thi chapter.
Chapter  19
Sita trembles
When confronted by Raavanan, Sita Amma trembled like a plaintain tree in a hurricane wind.Since all the time, Sita Amma continued thinking about her husband only, and nothing else, sudden encounter makes her mind crumbling in thoughts. Hear was visible through her tears. As she was living on just water instead of any other normal food or fruits, she was verylean and made Aanjaneyar feel extremely sad.   He got fully convinced that such a situation mu be brought to an end. Also he thought  Raavana has chosen that path of self destruction in deceitfully bringing Sita amma in captivity  to this place.
This line of thinking was forming the basis for him to swing into planned action, and kept on watching further happening there.
Lesson : 19
We must first watch and study the situation before we plan our action to achieve our aim or goal. This is the lesson Aanjaneyar gives us in this chapter.
Chapter  20
Raavananan  pleads   with Sita Amma
Aanjaneyar saw Sita Amma pulling further her upper clothe to cover herself fully her body parts and started trembling as Raavanan came in front of her. Raavanan started detailing how higher level over the men in this world, All the Devaas and all the Raakshasaas. In spite of that , he would not touch her without her accepting him. He pleads for her love and affection towards him. If she opts him, she will own all types of costly and precious diamond ornaments and clothes. He describes about her physical features and her qualities which draws him, who is greatly known for his valour  and if she  chooses him , he will make her the Queen .Afterall Raamaa who wanders here and there will never be able to come back to her. Raavanan further offers to give his entire wealth to Sita Amma’s father Janaka, if she chooses him now.
Aanjaneyar witnessed thus the plight of Sita Amma.
Lesson – 20 :
Though he was born as a Brahmin and learnt Vedas,  in thinking and practice, he opts to be  a low level Raakshasaa, leaving his dharma stipulations. This is the very important lesson for us to adhere to our prescribed dharma, which will take us great and aimed at goals in life. This is what our Aanjaneyar gives as lesson to us through this chapter.
