Sundara Kandam - A commentary - Chapters 26-30
Chapter 26
Mental travails experienced by Sita Amma
When ominous and dangerous situations we experience that to happen imminently, mind sets its running to all directions without any control. That too it will run at high speed. Sita Amma experiences such a situation. She starts comparing earlier life and present life. “ When my Rama and Lakshmanan were away from me , Raavanan abducted me and kept me in captivity here. If this is known to Rama , he would save me from this situation in no time. Or through Jatayu, he is aware of Raavanan abducting me, he might have thought I might have fallen off and died or I might have ended my life. But with all his power of archery, if he has not come, it is definitely due to pastlife sins. If Rama could find me here, Raavanan will see he worst time in his life and all the people here also will suffer very much, due to no fault of theirs. One arrow of Rama is sufficient.
Raavanan has set time limit for and all the Raakshasees here have threatened to kill me and eat my flesh. In stead it is better ,I end my life myself.
Because I am so much away from him. Rama might have forgotten me, Nay it is the act of cowards and characterless people. My Rama will help anyone at all cost even by giving own life if need be. How can I entertin such thoughts. If my Rama loves me so much, how still he has not come to save me. Definitely there is some huge deficiency in my past live good deeds. It is better to end my life, being away from my husband. Or it may be that Raavanan has taken a newlook due to his magic powers and killed Rama and Lakshmanan. Rama knows all and he will come definitely and save me from this lurch. Still I do not want to be killed by Raakshasees and it is better to end my life myself, all the while thinking about Rama.” This decision she arrives at. All these things were witnessed by Aanjaneyar with heavy heart.
Lesson – 26:
Mental agony, agitations at unsteady state may happen at the dire and impending situations. Decisions taken at those times may be wrong . Contradictory viewing of situations will happen at those times. Put all the stakes with Aanjaneyar who will take us through safely, giving a steady mind and face situations with calmness. Ultimately taking us to overcome all situations.
Thus the twenty sixth chapter of Sundarakandam is completed

Chapter 27
Thrijataa details her early morning dream
Raakshasees’s shouting and loud talking wake up the little elderly and respected lady Thrijataa, who is Daughter of Vibheeshanan, younger brother of Raavanan. She comes out , calls all the Raakshasees and detail her early morning dream.
“you wicked Raakshasees, do not threaten Sita any more. I was having the early morning dream and there looks to be connection between that and Sitha. You all know early morning dream normally comes true.In that, I saw Rama coming to Lanka with his army, defeats Raavanan and takes back Sita with him.
Sita was well dressed up and with shining ornaments and fragrant flowers. Holding the hands of Rama, she gets into the vimaanam . My father Vibheeshanan is also sitting by the side of Rama. But before all these happen, a monkey sent to Lanka by Rama fights and kills large number of Raakshasaas and put Lanka on fire and burn it.
Raavanan gts fully defeated, looks all around him dead and mutilated bodies of his close people including his sons, brother and ministers. A dreadfully looking lady holds Raavanan’s hand and lead s him to southern direction.
Hence treat Sita respectfully. She is a very kind hearted lady. She will forget and forgive whatever you all have done to her sofar. In Sita’s case, I was seeing plenty of good omens .” These words were received with respect by them but a few started off to tell Raavanan what was happening here.

Lesson – 27 :
When you are in dire street, full of fear, desolation and despair, there may come few words of comfort from your near and dear ones, giving you a sense of relief and restoration and resurrection thereby your crossing over from utter and pitch darkness into streak of visible light. This is what Aanjaneyar shows to all of us the symptom of end of all and long and short duration troubles in our life and let us pray to him for our guided march forward.
Thus the twenty seventh chapter of Sundarakandam is completed

Chapter 28
Sita Amma tries to end her life
After listening to Thrijataa’s dream , all the Raakshasees ge back to continue their sleep. But Sita Amma was much awake and gets into thinking back and forth. Her thoughts are hovering on her deep sufferings every day, things which may be following in the coming days, her Rama still not coming to save her. She again thinks whether Rama and Lakshmanan were killed by Ravanan using a fake forme like the deer, Maareechan. If a Raakshasaa has this power, the great Rama has multitude of powers to thwart any thing he encounters. Ok, Raavanans time limit set for her is fast approaching. Under this condition, instead of allowing them to cut off mu lims and killing me, it is better to end my life, just now since all the raakshaseesare sleeping. Praying to Rama , she holds the branch of the tree, just above her, and that was just below to where Aanjaneyar was sitting and watching intently.
Suddenly she thought of ending my life out of diffidence and apparent lack of faith. It is wrong and also it will give a en why shuld I entertain the thinks “ I am aware of the great power of Rama, who will do the necessary things in a jiffy to save her. Then why should I entertain this way. Also it will be a permanent bad name for my father’s family if I do this. “ Suddenly lot of good omens were visible and seen by here all around and confidence and faith and comfort are pouring into her profusely. She felt being lifted out of muddy situations fully.
Lesson – 28:
Our body has a lot of beneficial harmones generation and also those that create unstable bowel movements and most uncomfortable feelings. The second one if they leave the body, we can realise the bright active divinity inside us thanks to removal of the dark clouds hiding it from us. This situation, which Aanjaneyar saw in Sita Amma experiencing, will also be for us to enjoy fully from this day onwards due to Anjaneyar’s blessings.

Addendum to Chapter 28
Chapter 15, is like the start of part of 2 of the Sundarakandam. Similarly from this chapter onwards, Part 3 starts which give back normal breathing for the strained and suffering Sita Amma , bring up her confidence level and Aanjaneya’rs qualities visible fully to the fore and on display. Aanjaneyar was patiently watching so far without springing up on action. He has to act as per the dictum of the situation so that his efforts will not disturb or harm his ultimate objective. Similarly if you confidently align yourself with Aanjaneyar, be confident he takes up all your problems and solve them at the most appropriate ways. There is only one condition , we should watch but stop mentally worrying. Whatever we embark on we should have confidence we do with he being the real force for that.

Chapter 30
Aanjaneyar decides on his approach to meet and console Sita Amma
After seeing in person Sita Amma’s grief and difficulties, due to the happenings around her, Aanjaneyar starts thinking on how to approach Sita and what he has to do further Though many Vaanaraas were sent in all directions, Rama’s blessings were there for him so that he could cross the ocean, wander in Lanka, in search of Sita Amma, thereby gone through all the places and seen the prosperity of Lanka, as a Raama Dhoothan. At last, he could see Sita Amma who is all the time thinking about Rama in her mind. All these have been possible due to Rama’s blessings.
Now, I have to devise a plan, how to show me in front of her, to speak to her to cajole and bring comfort to her. If I go suddenly she may think and suspect I am Ravanan in this form. I must start to tell Ramakatha first so that she will be curious and inquisitive to know about me, and ask me about how I know rhe story of Rama. This could be the proper beginning to interact with her. Now all the Raakshasees are fast asleep. I can start with my telling Rama katha for her ears alone. He thinks regarding which language he should use to tell and decides to use language spoken by Kosala people.
He continues to be hiding at the top of the tree and starts telling the Raama Katha in a soothing voice.

Lesson – 30 :
When we embark on to bring comfort and confidence to a crestfallen person due to his situations or circumstances, we should think first, how our message of comfort will get inside his mind, in suitable language and tone, which will enable him to get diverted from his harrowing situation and mindset. So we must do the required mental mathematics for the efficient and anticipated result is the lesson shown by our Aanjaneyar in this chapter.
